ATA is the same as IDE, right? I've had no problems connecting both to the same machine.

I have a dual-boot machine. I feel like I just earned a nerd merit badge.
Is one of those Linux or FreeBSD? I think you need one of those for the merit badge.
I have two computers with mixed ATA and SATA and they both work just fine. No problems at all.
