"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

My computer is acting weird. When I try to shut a browser window, it won't shut, and that window freezes. The only way I can shut it is with Ctrl+Alt+Delete, which shuts every browser window, even when I only choose one. Everything else with the computer is working fine. Any suggestions for a fix?

I just tried that and restarted the computer. It didn't work. I have also run ad-aware a number of times.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Does a G4 iBook have a separate battery that maintains the clock? or is that based on the regular battery?

Not sure about the iBook, but my G4 PowerBook does not have a separate battery. When I let the main one run down the time is reset.

A friend's iBook has recently started losing its time. So yeah, sounds like new battery time.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

More silly questions about ripping DVDs: My Best of Siouxsie and the Banshees DVD is Region 0. I can *watch* it on the faithful PowerBook, no problem. But when I open it up in Handbrake or Instant Handbrake, the only chapters either of those two applications show are the copyright blurb and the Universal logo. No chapters with the actual music videos. Help?

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I have a minor problem that is driving me nuts. I accidentally entered a wrong user name at Gmail, got the login failure corrected, and entered fine. Now every time I go to gmail, the login box gives me a choice of two username, the right one and the wrong one:

I 've done the following -

1) checked out stored passwords in Firefox - could not find anything for gmail.

2) Eliminated all google, and gmail cookies via firefox

3) type in command box in xp: rundll32.exe keymgr.dll, KRShowKeyMgr - found no stored passwords.

So where are these "default" login names being stored, and how do I get rid of the one I don't want

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

TB, that looks like you need to uncheck "Remember what I've enter in forms and the search bar" on your privacy tab of Options.
