I want/nned some sort of used PDA for keeping notes about everything, especially sizes of windows and walls and rooms for my house when i go out shopping for things for home improvement.
Any suggestions for a price point and model that would fit these basic needs?
If they were cheap enough both Andi and i could have one.

You also might want to consider getting a digital voice recorder.

Unfortunately a DVR is not what I have in mind. I'm wanting to replace the graphical nature of a notebook. I'm quite visually oriented.
Not that my inner geek doesn't want one of those. They also have their uses.
