The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay! I have gapless playback on my iPod! Something I've wanted since I bought the very first portable mp3 player.

me too!

Anyway, I had to upgrade to iTunes 7, and then install the latest iPod software (iTunes asked me as soon as I pluged the iPod in).

Me too! It's going to take me a while to get used to the new format.

Our wings are not tired

iTunes is busy scanning 20,000 tracks right now. I'm curious to see how it deals with the artwork. Most of my stuff already has artwork attached, but there's some pretty obscure stuff in there that doesn't.

It just went through my whole library and didn't add any artwork that was missing. I am thinking it only does that when you import from a CD after you upgrade.

I too am totally thrilled about the gapless playback.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

I tried to software update my Mac last night and nothing popped up for iTunes 7. I hope they put it in the update queue soon.

That's odd. I ran software update around 9 PM and it offered me the iTunes update.

ETA: I was kinda pissed off at iTunes for most of the day today because the store was down and I couldn't download the album I'd preordered. My displeasure has faded away in light of the new iTunes.

ah, well, I ran it around 7PM my time, which was maybe 1PM est. So that's probably why.

That makes sense. I don't think I was able to get into the store at all until sometime in the afternoon, Pacific time.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I came this close to stopping by the Apple store after work last night, just to squee.

In the meantime, I'm about ready to pull my hair out over this wireless thing. I *cannot* get this thing connected. The network is there, the computer claims to be connected, pinging goes smoothly, but I can't access the internet through either Firefox or IE. Right now I'm on someone else's unsecured network (bless you, ryan, whoever you are), so it's definitely something in the settings on my own that's fucking up.

Any ideas? I'm sure at this point it's something totally stupid and obvious, but I'm damned if I can find it.

I'm just downloading the new iTunes right now (AIFG)

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

I've got the updated iTunes, but haven't connected the iPod yet. Will do that tonight. I did get some artwork for some of the albums I had loaded long ago. It was interesting to see what pulled artwork and what didn't. I haven't figured out a pattern yet.
