Thanks Tom.
Hmph! I do not like this. When Flickr started it's selling point was that you could store as many photos as you want, you just had the monthly bandwith limit. I feel like they're holding my old photos hostage.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Thanks Tom.

Okay, 'ffistas. What is coming up with the Series3 Tivos, when are they coming out, and how much is the speculation they will cost? I thought I didn't care, because I have my DirecTivo, but we'll maybe have cable available when we move, so we're weighing our entertainment options.
Yeah, what Sue said! I suddenly like Flickr a lot less.
Hasn't it always been that way? Free accounts let you store as many photos as you want, but only display 200 at a time. (Even though you can still link to them individually -- they're not gone, just not displayed.)

I'm pretty sure that it's new since I signed up. I can't say that I read the TOS thoroughly when I signed up (Sept/04), but I recall that there big selling point over yahoo and others was that there was no limit to the amount of storage space you could have, just the monthly uploading limit. It seems disingenuous to say, "Oh yeah, you can store as many photos as you want, you just can't see them all."
Thought I'd ask here, just in case -- I'd really like to try out Final Cut Express, or Final Cut Pro for the Mac, but I really do sincerely want to give it a try before handing over a great deal of money. Does anybody have a copy I could borrow?
(Or for that matter, "borrow" -- but rest assured, I will legitimately buy the product if I really do like it. Signed, Worked For A Software Company, Is Aware of Copyright Issues, Wants to See Honest Programmers Make A Living )
A friend got approached for a contract she can't handle, and referred me instead. "Referred" is not the right word; she did put major effort into getting me the contract. It seems to me that it would only be fair to give her a percentage as thank you. Decades ago, in a completely different business 3% was a considered a reasonable percent for this sort of thing, but I have no idea what would be standard in the tech business in today's market.
I tried PSP technical support, and they basically said I was SOL with the import of the CDR. At no point did they suggest loading up the trial version of the latest Corel and exporting from there, which is what I successfully managed last night (annoyingly, one of the CDRs still won't open, but I had that image elsewhere).
Anybody have a clue why my laptop would suddenly decide I don't have an airport card installed? I"ve had it for, oh, two and a half years? Computer (powerbook, same age) was freaking out and demanding I restart it, last night, so I left it off all day. Got home, turned it on, worked fine...except suddenly says "No airport card installed". WTF?
I tried to pull the airport card out, but although I put it in, I couldn't figure out how to get it out--the little cord thing that attaches it confused me, and I wasn't sure if I could/should detach it. Sadly, that and restarting the thing multiple times did not fix the problems. GRRRRRRR.
meara, what model is your powerbook?
