I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There's [link] for use with Firefox. I haven't tried it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj, how far away from the receiver are you keeping and using the mouse? I used to have one of those that I adored, despite its endless appetite for AAs, and I found the batteries lasted longer when I kept the mouse about five inches or less from the receiver. I also found that as the batteries began to die, if I had moved the mouse away from the receiver (which would happen from time to time), moving it back closer would get the warning messages to chill out for a while.

I moved it closer, and I will see if that helps. If I move it too close, the thing won't work at all, and the diagnostic on my computer is telling me that the battery levels are fine.

Ultimately, I went back to a corded mouse, just because the money I was spending on the batteries (even buying them in packs of 30 or more) was just too much.

Hugs cordless mouse and keyboard closely It's so much easier on my back to be able to move the devices around where I need them, so I won't be giving them up anytime soon. I need to get rechargeable batteries for my digital camera anyway, so that is probably the way I will go with this too.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Rechargeables are totally the way to go.

Also, have I mentioned publicly how much I totally love and adore the wireless mouse Jess gave me? Because I do. It completely rocks. It has revolutionized the way I work; it's so easy to use, and the extra features are great. I'm so addicted to the scroll and back and forth buttons. It's so handy to be able to do all of the by mousing, and not by movement or keystrokes. Yay, thanks, Jess!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You're welcome! I never used the extra buttons, for some reason (still don't, even though my current mouse has them too).

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It rocks! You all thought I was skimming before, but now I can just hold down the scroll button and scan posts to my heart's content. And I just discovered I could click&scroll in my endless excel reports, thus eliminating that irritating thing where it's almost impossible to select just the range of what you want and not the umpteen million blank rows after it.

I'm totally taking it with me for the summer.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

What's a good small-office remote-backup solution? Like, to backup files from a single file server (Windows) to some online storage? (Either to someone's ISP or some other place.)
