You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I think that WebTV deserved to be in the top 25.

My mother will give up her WebTV when you pry it from her cold dead fingers.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Okay, interesting article, but what kind of crazy person lists the best/worst of anything in descending order. You have to read the article backwards to get the proper effect.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Well, it was a big disappointment for those who were expecting something like the PC laptops out there.

Except when it came out there was nothing like the PC laptops out there.

1988 Compaq "Laptop": [link]

1989 also bought the NEC Ultralite, which was wonderfully light, but it was DOS and had a max of 2MB of flash rom and no HD: [link]

Also the same year: The Zenith Minisport: [link] Hardly a competitor.

And the closest is the Compaq LTE, in 1990, IIRC: [link] for the laptop form factor we now know.

It really wasn't much longer before the form factors finally changed.

1998 Compaq "Laptop"

Psst, Daniel, 1990, not 98.

I was just going by what it said in the museum entry.

I still made a boo boo. It was not my intent to imply nor state that the date was 1998. The mentioning it was 1988 was just a parenthetical aside, I'm sorry if it seemed like an attack. It was intended as an explanation of my typo.

ETA: Sigh.

Psst. Daniel, you did it again.

No, I didn't feel like you were attacking me. Sorry if I implied that. I just saw 1998, and thought "that can't be right." When I looked at the linked page, it said 1990, which made more sense to me.
