Oh, yeah. There was this time I was pinned down by this guy that played left tackle for varsity... Well, at least he used to before he was a vampire... Anyway, he had this really, really thick neck, and all I had was a little, little Exact-O knife ... You're not loving this story.

Yes, phone as modem. I must have been dazzled by Samsung phone lust.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Is it possible it's a problem with the outlet?

The outlet is fine.

bios battery

Can that be replaced easily? Guess I should check the MB manual...

Is there ever more than one battery on a motherboard? I see a 3/4" round 3V battery, but want to make sure I remove and test the right thing.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Usually there's just the one, and that's the one.

Can anyone elaborate on why Ubuntu seems to be the Linux distro of choice for 'ffistas?

Hey. New board.

Can anyone elaborate on why Ubuntu seems to be the Linux distro of choice for 'ffistas?

It's sort of the linux distro of choice for most everybody these days, from what I can tell. The internet waves I'm getting imply that it's the new sex - I'm guessing because it has a good balance of ease-of-use and customizibility/power.

(disclaimer: These are just impressions. I've never used Ubuntu. When I ran Linux, it did not exist. Also, I scoffed at ease-of-use: slackware and gentoo were my distos of choice, for I was a true computer-geek-manly-man.)

I got a replacement battery for my MB from Radio Shack. Before I try to boot it up, what should I expect? I assume some stuff will need to be reset like the clock? Anything else?

All is well that ends in pizza.

You may have to reset some peripherals in the bios, but if you haven't tweaked it before, I'd see how things run for now.
