Wesley: I stabbed you. I should apologize for that. But I'm honestly not sure how. I think it'll just be awkward. Gunn: Good call. Wesley: Okay.

How soon do you need the machine? If it can hold until the mid-april I'd be happy to build one for him and it could be in a custom case like the Bat Computer I built for Joe and Aimee.

Coding and Sleeping

RIVA, TNT, and TNT2 are really old chipsets, you might find TNT2 in some generic $25 video card, but generally they aren't available anymore. Quadro is the Nvidia workstation video card, it will be branded that way and won't be in any mainstream computer.

Edit: Nvidia chipset crosspost.

The 7300LE looks okay, it has DX9 support according to Nvidia. The 6600GT and 6600 are probably faster, but I have no idea how much difference it would make.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I've heard ND builds excellent computers. His secret ingredient? Love.

Awwww.

It also comes from the fact that most of the machines I build are meant to run in situations where failure would mean ruining a large performace.

If I only had a brain...

ND, I think that would be a treat for him, but I should ask. The birthday is April 7th.

Do you have a link to a screenshot of the BatComputer so I can show him?

I got the case from Directron.com and would be happy to build a machine into pretty much any case they have. I could probably finish the machine by April 15th so he'd have to be okay with waiting a week on his gift.

If you're in the Bay Area then Central Computers will build systems for you. Here's their choices for gaming systems, but I imagine they'll put in anything you want.

I doubt there will be love, though.

If I only had a brain...

That would be amazing, ND; let me talk to the kid.

This is cool:

My Life In The Bush Of Ghosts came out in 1981. Over the last decades, hundreds of artists in genres ranging from DJs to alternative to electronic have all borrowed from its ideas and claimed its influence. It is now being re-issued in a beautiful new package, with extensive liner notes and photos, and featuring 7 previously unreleased tracks from the original album and a film by influential artist Bruce Conner.

This is the first time complete and total access to original tracks with remix and sampling possibilities have been officially offered on line. In keeping with the spirit of the original album, Brian [Eno] and David [Byrne] are offering for download all the multitracks on two of the songs. Through signing up to the user license, and in line with Creative Commons licenses, you are free to edit, remix, sample and mutilate these tracks however you like. Add them to your own song or create a new one. Visitors are welcome to post their mixes or songs that incorporate these audio files on the site for others to hear and rate.

I love this album. I'll have to give this a try....
