I had to almost completely dismantle my neice's olympus digital camera in order to solder a bad connection. I can see why they charge so much for repair, it was very intricate.
I would like to keep the camera, but I did have fun repairing it.
It took me a while to be brave enough to take it all apart, tho. whew.
I'm putting together a MythTV PVR from spare computer equipment. Has anybody done this? I'm basing it on Fedora Core 4. So far I've install FC4, next step create a big-ass JFS partition to store the video (FC4 wouldn't do JFS at install for some reason)
If I could fix it myself, I sure would. I hate the disposable society we have. I don't want to add more to the landfill.
Does anyone use Vonage?
For me, it seems to work great for calling people with regular phone service, but sucks for calling people with cell phones or with cable phone service. However, I read that it works well in reviews so I wonder if it's vonage or my sucktastic linksys router (+ VoIP) that is the problem.
I just signed up for it. My friend Monique uses it for her business line and had good things to say about it.
I don't know if she uses this thread, but I think msbelle uses it for business frequently.
My miserable Vonage experience is recounted here:

Now we have Time Warner's digital phone, and couldn't be happier.
I never actually use my land line. I really just wanted something where people could leave messages for me and I'd get them via email. So, hopefullly, this will work out. I was paying way too much for a phone I wasn't using.
Current or former Konfabulator users:
I really like this, especially because I've become accustomed to the Dashboard on my work computer. But unlike Dashboard, I can't seem to make Konfab disappear completely--if I min all my windows, it's still there, on the desktop. This is screwing with my head, because I like to see the picture on my desktop; it gives me zen. Is there anyway to make it disappear completely, and only come when I command?

hmmmm.... What's wrong with it again?
heh.
