Well, then, this is a day I'll feel good to be me.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Use something other than MSN messenger? There must be a Mac equivalent to Trillian, right?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

There's Adium, but I've never used it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Adium

I think a .bin can be opened with Stuffit. Have you tried deleting the ".uncompressed" bit from the extension?

Yep, at which point Stuffit says "This file is not compressed," and possibly mutters something about me not smoking so much crack under its breath.

I guess this is a possibility, but I'm not so familiar with what my options might be, plus this would possibly involve doing things that make it more obvious that I am doing not-work-related stuff. Opening Messenger has the advantage of being slightly more stealthy.

Google Talk is the stealthiest, since it opens right in Gmail, but it only works for other people with Gmail.

Coding and Sleeping

I don't think Google Talk works with Safari though. At least it wasn't on my Dad's computer.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It's possible to get iChat (and presumably Adium) to communicate with Google Talk, since they all speak Jabber.

iChat only works with Google Talk in Tiger.

Oh, I suppose I should mention the other reason I was trying to use MSN Messenger was to speak to a friend who is only on Messenger.

Can iChat talk to people on Messenger?

I don't think so, no. Is this the page that's giving you the frelled up bin file?
