On a bit deeper digging, it sounds like you might be getting forced into Single User Mode when you are trying to get into Safe Mode. Try booting to Safe Mode again, and when you get to the command prompt type "exit" and see if it continues the boot sequence.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Nope. The screen goes blue for a second, and then right back into Darwin.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Soooo.... according to them, "one score" equals.... five? Yikes!

No, the site says "One score and -10" 20 minus 10 equals 10.

Hmmm, yeah, that's not a good sign. Try doing "fsck" from the command prompt. That will run a diagnostic on the disk.

Hmmm.

Maybe you could reinstall the previous update through your flicker.

Hey, can you try changing the screen resolution?

It sure sounds like something doesn't like the video driver.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh. Can you try a different monitor (if it's a PowerPC) or an external monitor (if it's an iMac)?

Bah! I think I shall go get KFC in frustration....

I got this big-ass .asp file with a bunch of javascript on it, and some includes to other files containing more javascript functions. Like so:

<SCRIPT src="SCRIPTS/validation.js" ></SCRIPT>

I have some global variables defined in the javascript on the main page. Shouldn't these global variables be available to functions that are in the include files?

OK, I can easily pass the globals as extra variables to the functions. But is there some way to get the include functions to see the globals?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

No, the site says "One score and -10" 20 minus 10 equals 10.

Except 1990 was fifteen years ago. So they think that a score equals 25.

All is well that ends in pizza.

And is the video card the one that came with the machine? if not, the driver for it might have compatability problems with the update.
