I'm going to be looking for syncing software when my new phone comes in, so I'll let you know what I find.
Buffistechnology 2: You Made Her So She Growls?
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
ita, you could try DataPilot. It seems to be able to sync to Palm Desktop.
Thanks, D. But for $59.95, I'm surprised it doesn't synch the calendars with Palm Desktop. Or use Bluetooth.
Hmm.
I was sure that iSync explicitly told me it couldn't sync with my Palm device. Yet, there is a conduit for iSync, and I'm testing it now.
I use iSync with my Treo which is pretty much just a palm device. It even works across Bluetooth with no problems.
The only remaining thing I need to resolve is to make the Palm iSync before the phone. It's pretty smooth, even if I did manage to delete all the phone book entries from the phone while I was experimenting.
For syncing with a Palm (Treo, in this case), I much prefer Missing Sync to Hotsync + iSync on a Mac. In Tiger, it has its own conduits for iCal and Address Book that sync things like categories (for both contacts and calendar), user pictures, IM address, and so forth - things that iSync misses. It can also use any other conduit (I've got Documents to Go on there, for instance), install software (on the internal memory or a card), sync with an iTunes playlist or iPhoto album, sync files with any folder on your hard drive (to a card), and many other neat things. Of course, if all you're doing is transferring the phone numbers from Palm->Phone, then there's no need for that, and you could stick with the free.
Firefox 1.5 has been officially released. [link]
I downloaded that for work and home -- it's fast. Totally worth having to pick new themes for (since neither of the ones I'd been using have been upgraded to work with the new version yet).
Yeah, I already miss my Brushed theme. OTOH, all the extensions I had were compatible or upgradable, and it did the upgrade check automatically.
