Right. Piano. Because that's what we used to kill that big demon that one time. No, wait. That was a rocket launcher.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Hi all,

I'm looking for an OS9 repair program that will let me restore the secondary boot record for a scsi hard drive.

I used Norton Disk Doctor aand Diskwarrior on a corrupted MBR, and it claims it is wiped clean.

However, Disk Rescue Classic finds the volume and I can rescue files, if I have to. I've already backed up my user directory and documents.

Unfortunately that still requires a lot more work that I'd like to avoid, if possible.

Yeah, it just says ATA on here, not Serial ATA. I'll check out dealmac, though I've got an excess of Amazon credit right now, so hopefully I can find something there and not spend any real money.

Katie, if you're still looking for a monitor, I've got a KDS Rad-5 15" LCD flatscreen you can have for the cost of shipping. Profile addy's good.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

This from another forum. He had to evacuate from the Gulf Coast (sounds like his home is gone) and he had to start up shop out of a hotel room for now until his company can relocate him.

Anyway:

Tivo - They will allow me to replace my unit with lifetime service with another one for $50 and continue the lifetime service!

This amuses me, under "system requirements" for one of the enclosures:

IDE Drive to put into case

Heh.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Any OS X/Launchcast users? I'm getting no joy. With Opera the player window pops up, and everything except the juicy middle looks fine. Safari gives me a "Sorry, we are unable to support Netscape 6.0+ at this time.

Error Code: 7 - 0" message, as does Firefox.

Am I SOL?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I got the same thing, ita.

Me three -- I can't get Launch to recognize either Safari or Firefox as anything but Netscape.

It happened on IE as well.

I have a Buslink 5 Ports USB 2.0 PCI Adapter Card that I took out of my old computer before putting it out on the street, but looking at the manual and info online, it doesn't look like it's Mac-compatible. Anyone want it? (It's a little dusty, but otherwise in good working order.)

All is well that ends in pizza.

Jessica,

Despite being worried as being seen as a scavenger, I would be interested in that card. The only USB ports I have right now are 1.0 and that would help me stretch my good PC system a bit longer.

Unless someone else has a more urgent need, of course.

I've been contemplating a Firewire card for my ancient Mac lately, but I'm starting to wonder if it is all worth the investment. Sigh.
