I was completely in love with it but the base price was way over my head.
Yeah, I was briefly in love with it, until I found out the list price.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

For me, I don't think the power would've been an issue. I only have a 2.0L, which is 115 HP or something. The SSR would feel like a Ferrari in comparison.
But, oh, the sticker shock.
I'm still a little head spinny over what I just spent on my new car. Yeah the SSR just seems to be priced badly.
That's where the Beetle is such a home run. Great styling and actuallu priced within reach of the people that are most likely to be attracted to it.
That was pretty much what made me go for it. It was a little more than I should've spent but not so much more that I had to give up food.
The Plymouth Prowler was another one.
I actually think the SSR is an unbelieveably ugly car. And I generally like incredibly ugly cars, but not this one.
I think the Viper and the Stealth are hideous, myself. I've seen prettier concept cars -- why did we win those?
My 5-year old computer speakers are dying. Any recs? (I have Soundsticks at work, which are pretty and all, but the volume control is kind of a PITA, and I'd prefer something a little more compact for my teensy home desk.)
I like everything Altec Lansing makes. I'd probably get these for the situation you describe.
How much is your budget for speakers?
