You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Nah, most image editing software has some form of sharpen function. It may take some digging to find it.

The iPhoto that comes with iLife 05 has very nice image manipulation functions in it. I rarely use Photoshop to adjust pictures anymore.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

If you don't wanna pay for Photoshop, there's always The Gimp. Very powerfull. On the downside, it's not the easiest thing to learn, and if you wanna run it on a Mac, you have to have some form of the X Windowing System installed. Apple's X11.app is probably best.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The Gimp is not for the faint of heart.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Also, I have NEVER been able to get the Gimp to run on my PowerBook, despite having everything set as it should be.

Damn it.

What version of OS X does it have?

I spent many hours trying to get it to run on my iBook (back when it was on 10.2). Then I discovered that The Gimp requires at least 10.3.

Hmm. So what I'm hearing, Rob, is...buy iLife05? :)

We'll see...

How about Photoshop Elements that was recommended to Perkins? I'm guessing Graphics Converter won't cut it...

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

For retouching, iPhoto works great. For everything else (icons, etc), I use Elements.

10.39

Really, if I plan on using this machine for image stuff at all, I should have Paul use his discount at the University store.
