Tara: What's so bad about them coming here? Aren't they good guys? I mean, Watchers, that's just like whole other Gileses, right? Buffy: Yes! They're scary and horrible!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Amazon's been down and not down for me.

Does anyone like IBM PCs?

If I only had a brain...

I love my ThinkPad kind of a lot. But I bought a Dell to replace it, because the price differential was just too high.

Can anybody recommend a reliable maker of electronic keyboards (the kind you play like a piano, not the kind you type with.) I'm thinking of getting one for the family for Christmas. I've played the piano before; the kids would be hacking around. Some sort of way of dumping melodies to a PC would be nice.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

People have said good things about their laptops.

The last IBM PC we had around here was an XT. It had a 10 MB hard drive.

Our wings are not tired

If you just want something to use as a controller for the PC sampler software then M-Audio makes some nice keyboard controllers. If not Roland, Kurzweil, or Korg all make nice keyboards across a pretty broad price spectrum.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I do not have positive things to say about my old Thinkpad. But it is dead and gone and sold on ebay.

Betsy, I like Casio's keyboards [link] a lot. I've owned several. This is the one I have currently [link] , which comes with a SmartMedia reader. They all offer several play modes.

eta: ND and I are talking about two different levels of investment.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Shit. Amazon.com is driving me batshit. I just want to do some damn xmas shopping from the comfort of my office!

Is this one of those 1st world concerns again?

Visilurking

Anyone know of anything going on with Amazon.com? I haven't been able to get into the site all day.

Having wonkiness issues too.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

LN, I won't mock you, if you don't mock my pain that Word insists on repaginating the entire fucking 350 page document every time I apply a bulleted list.

Every time.

Do you know how long it takes Word to repaginate a 350 page document?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Dana,

any way you can split that document into 3 or more parts? You need to use master documents for a document of that size.
