Any suggestions for an inexpensive, reliable computer with good support for my techno-challenged sister? I have heard mixed reports about Dell, but Dell's running a great deal right now.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Every time I've had to call Dell for anything (largely trying to get off their mailing list, since we no longer have a Dell), I've ended up wanting to beat my head against a wall.
However, we very seldom had to actually call tech support, so.
I've got a dell. They aren't bad. They stand up well to my college beatings.
They stand up well to my college beatings.
The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Anyone know of anything going on with Amazon.com? I haven't been able to get into the site all day.
I'm getting around on Amazon without any trouble.
I couldn't get into Amazon earlier, but it seems to be working for me now.
In other news...
IBM puts PC business up for sale.
I can't get into Amazon but the UK site is fine.
Amazon's been down and not down for me.
Does anyone like IBM PCs?
I love my ThinkPad kind of a lot. But I bought a Dell to replace it, because the price differential was just too high.
Can anybody recommend a reliable maker of electronic keyboards (the kind you play like a piano, not the kind you type with.) I'm thinking of getting one for the family for Christmas. I've played the piano before; the kids would be hacking around. Some sort of way of dumping melodies to a PC would be nice.
