Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Kristen, if these are the files of which I'm thinking, do you want me to burn the ones I have to DVDs as DVDs, and you send the rest as files?

Yes, they are the ones you are thinking of. I have 11-12 and 17-22 off of my DVR so those are fine. It's 13-16 that I need.

Hmm. Don't know about those -- I'll check. Or, if you want, you can give *me* the files, and I can burn the DVDs.

Our wings are not tired

Sounds like Toast Titanium 6 will do what you want it to do and perhaps give you a bit better feedback about it than iDVD.

Netflix question:

Has any non-major-city-area Buffista noticed an increase in time for Netflix DVD-getting?

For awhile I had a 2 day turnaround, and my DVD's were going to a PD box in Rochester. This last one took 1 week, and came from Texas!

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Sophia,

have you been renting a lot? Netflix does this to you if you rent a lot. They like to slow down your rentals. There's a term for it, but I've forgotten it.

I thought that was just a rumour.

(I think it's called throttling -- never happened to me, but who knows?)

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Nope. I googled this because it happened to Beau and me. They have folks who have been documented this issue.

There's a "secret" max that netflix has for each each and once you go above that in a 30 day period, your movies start slowing up SIGNIFICANTLY.

Oh...the term is "throttle." Google netflix and throttle and you should get a fair # of links.

Thanks. During the winter I don't rent a lot at all, but now that school is out, I was getting about 20 movies a month on the 5 at a time plan.

Well, they do say this:

In determining priority for shipping and inventory allocation, we give priority to those members who receive the fewest DVDs through our service. As a result, those subscribers who receive the most movies may experience next-day shipping and receive movies lower in their queue more often than our other subscribers.

in their terms of service. Still, even when I was plugging through three or four a week, my turnaround time was three business days -- it was rare they didn't send me a receipt e-mail within 24 hours of me putting the disc in the mail.
