Ohhhhh. That must be it. If anyone knows my first name, can you please send an email to (my first name) @earthlink.net and tell me if you get the message? Thanks.

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Yep, I got it.
Wooo! Thanks, Jesse.
Can anyone tell me a possible reason why my computer spontaneously shuts itself off and restarts? It's happened three times in the last thirty minutes. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with what I'm doing when it happens. Norton says it doesn't have a virus. It's a Pentium 4 PC running Windows XP, and I've only had it two months. This is very frustrating.
not completely connected power cord?
Checked. Power cord plugged in.
Is it plugged in with a bunch of other stuff? Try switching to another outlet.
It could be overheating.
Could be... but it doesn't feel particularly hot, and the fan always sounds like a vaccuum cleaner every time it starts up. There's nothing blocking the vents. I dunno; I'll turn it off for a while and maybe it'll magically fix itself.
Can someone help me out? I'm trying to download something off YouSendIt, but I'm using Safari, and if I click on the link to download the thing, instead of seeming to download it to my computer, it seems like it's trying to open it and stream it instead. I can't figure out how to change this. Help? (Of course, maybe at the end of the streaming it would've somehow been saved somewhere? But it hung up near the end, so I had to just stop it and give up (and when I hit stop, it didn't seem to have saved those bits anywhere).
