Rio, you should be able to access the web version of your EarthLink mail account, and in Preferences use both the "Email Forwarding" and "Vacation Message" features.

Of course, I doubt either of those will features will survive the actual closing of your account, but it will alert anyone who sends to you between now and then.

Now I'm being punished for copyediting. The "vacation message" worked just fine until I changed one word in it then resaved it. Now it's not going out anymore. Everything else about it is the same. Fuck. I knew my persnicketiness would bite me in the ass.

There is an "Enable" check box at the top of the "Vacation Message" form. Did it get un-checked when you edited?

If you're testing with the same other email, in some systems you only get an away message once, even if you email the person a bunch of times when they're gone.

Can anyone tell me a possible reason why my computer spontaneously shuts itself off and restarts? It's happened three times in the last thirty minutes. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with what I'm doing when it happens. Norton says it doesn't have a virus. It's a Pentium 4 PC running Windows XP, and I've only had it two months.
