to find unbalanced '{ }' brackets?
tommyrot, I'm sure there must be a utility or two out there, but what I've done in the past is comment out chunks of code until functionality is restored (i.e. it compiles or tries to execute). Once you've done that, you can narrow down within the last block of code that you commented out where the problem lies.

Yeah, there's that.
In this particular case I think it'll be easier to take an older version that I know works, and do a file comparison with the new version and add the changes in one-by-one until it breaks.
eta: Ugh. Found it. It was where I commented out a 'try - catch' block for testing - I commented out an extra '}'. The thing is, I thought that might have been the problem yesterday, so I looked at that twice and didn't see it.

Feelin' like a big idiot here. I've googled for solutions to this problem and I suspect its solution is so duhm that it's beneath the spicy brains here...nonetheless...I need help.
Set up: iMac running 9.1 and Pagemaker 6.5
I want to make a pdf of a document so that I can email it to a client.
I've made pdfs before, but somehow, something in the system has been fracked since last I tried.
The distillation goes along until I get a Postscript error. The printer connected to this computer is an HP Laserjet 6L USB...no postscript.
I went through the process of creating a postscript translator but cannot figure out how to get it recognized by the chooser.
I used to be able to print Pagemaker files. Now? The text prints in shmooshy Courier.
What have I done?
