tommyrot: If you did it a complicated way, then, for future reference, the easiest way is just using the "color->alpha" filter for that color. Anything that is purely alpha will get transformed into transparency during gif export - more flexible than "pick a color to pretend is transparent" in the long run as it allows for blending and such, but less intuitive than in simpler programs.
Does Photoshop (which I'm SURE works the same way, converting alpha sections to transparent after flattening) make it more intuitive than putting it in the "Filters" folder? I don't really know Photoshop very well.
Newbie question: I thought I'd try that "ripping" "music" thing you kids all seem to be on about, so I put a CD in my computer, and it wants me to pick from RealPlayer, iTunes, or Windows Media Player. I didn't know I even had iTunes -- usually when I play anything, it's from Windows Media Player. I have no iPod, no MP3 player, and I won't be getting one any time soon. So, does it matter which I choose?

Of your choices, iTunes is probably the best, because it's more sophisticated in terms of organisation and stuff.

OK, here's a question: is there a way for me to edit my music files? Without paid-for software? Because the hidden track has all the blank space at the beginning. I know I can just FF, but still. Computers should make everything perfect!!

You need special software for that. But on iTunes, you can tell it to start and/or end a song at points other than the beginning and end. Just go to 'info' - there's a tab there that will take you to the right screen.
When you rip songs in iTunes, there's an option that lets you pick the start time and the end time of a particular track.
