Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My iPod had been dead since running the iPod 2.3 update (aka 2-22-05) despite wiping the iPod clean and reinstalling its system software. I plug it in and it and iTunes just locks up.

Looking at the Mac support site I see that quite a lot of people have had major problems with their iPod since running this update. I recommend not running the update for the time being, or else studying things at the Mac support site first.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Tivo users, I have an odd problem. I got the cable hooked up in my new apartment today, and everything's working fine except that the Tivo doesn't seem to be able to see upcoming episodes. I've already restarted and manually connected once, and am doing it again now. Any suggestions, though? (My next stop is the Tivo community forums.)

Trust my rage

tommy, i know you didn't ask for help on this, but does your iPod still work with an older version of the software? I'm mainly curious because I had a previous problem a few months ago.

(Crap! Repeating Guided Setup means missing Battlestar Galactica. This had better work...)

My current plan is to reinstal the previous update (2004-11-15) bu so far I've failed to get that version of the update software to work.

Yeah, and I'm also downloading it in another window. But I want to watch it now.

I'll fill you in as I watch. So far they have this new kick-ass Cylon psychiatrist played by Barry Manilow.

So not only did the new updater not work, but it also seems to have fried your iPod? That sounds bad. I did install the new one on my iPod and haven't had any problems and I hope it stays that way.

Gaaaah. It's been stuck on "setting clock" for the last ten minutes. I don't know if I should disconnect or keep waiting.
