"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Rob,

it does not look like that exactly. Rather, I've only seen her have one colored window open at one time. Maybe I'll go to the google link and hunt. I've never seen that sticky notes app have that long-ass drop down menu that my colleague was using.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Okay, I think I found the app. More about that later. Have you seen this gmail program?

GMail Drive is a Shell Namespace Extension that creates a virtual filesystem around your Google GMail account, allowing you to use GMail as a storage medium.

GMail Drive creates a virtual filesystem on top of your Google GMail account and enables you to save and retrieve files stored on your GMail account directly from inside Windows Explorer. GMail Drive literally adds a new drive to your computer under the My Computer folder, where you can create new folders, copy and drag'n'drop files to.

I think the thing I saw my colleague using is Sticky Brain. Which looks cool:

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Tommy, the button site you linked to is the only one I've ever used.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Probably silly question. How do I lock something into one place on my desktop? You know how the first few things, mostly programs that came with the machine, stay at the front while the rest of the icons you had get shifted around when you add/delete, reorganize, etc.? I have a shortcut that I use all the time and it drives me nuts to always have to look for it.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

More share-raising rumours:

Shares in TiVo continued to climb today (Friday) to $5.10 at midday on word that Netflix, the online film renter, is considering offering to allow TiVo users to rent movies by downloading them directly onto the personal digital recorders. At a technology symposium in Phoenix, Netflix CFO Barry McCarthy said that the company, which previously had announced plans to offer a movie download service sometime this year, said that it was looking for the best system to provide a compelling service to consumers. "TiVo," he said, "may be one of those systems." Shares of Netflix also rose nearly 5 percent in midday trading to $11.00.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Strange -- I heard that rumour a couple of weeks(?) ago. But I guess, y'know, having it said by the Netflix CFO gives it a bit more weight.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

My iPod had been dead since running the iPod 2.3 update (aka 2-22-05) despite wiping the iPod clean and reinstalling its system software. I plug it in and it and iTunes just locks up.

Looking at the Mac support site I see that quite a lot of people have had major problems with their iPod since running this update. I recommend not running the update for the time being, or else studying things at the Mac support site first.
