My dad used to do all my souping for me, but since I got a laptop I'll have to bring it somewhere.
Unfortunately, it's pretty much impossible to upgrade the video capabilities of a laptop unless you're extremely handy with a soldering iron. And maybe not even then.
In other words, no soup for you. IJS.
It's a Flowpoint 2210.
No worky, sorry. I have one of those sitting around my house, too, btw, if anyone wants it.
Aww, if I bring it in they can't upgrade the video card? That bites.
Stupid self, not thinking of things before I do 'em..
The Treo 650 that I pre-ordered has arrived. The new high rez screen is amazing. Also, it has bluetooth, and with the help of a small hack I've not got it paired with my Powerbook and I can get online from the powerbook anywhere that I have a cell phone signal.
Is it possible to be too connected?
ND Last night I dreamed about you and your technology.
A bunch of buffistas (I guess for a F2F) were over at your place and we went to watch movies in this big room you had set up as a theater. Well kind of, you didn't have any chairs, just a huge plasma tv - - the size of a movie screen celebs put in their houses. And some kind of kick ass sound system and lots of other electronics and things in the room. I have no idea what they were but everyone else was impressed and jealous. So we found seats in between the equipment and wires and watched Buffy or Firefly or something like that.
Yep, ND's technology is the stuff of dreams.
New iPods! (OK, actually; revised iPods!)
Let's see if this Apple store link works: [link]
From MacSlash:
"The Mini now has a 6GB disc while the Photo iPod now comes in 30GB and 60 GB sizes. There's also a new, slimer, 40GB iPod." They've dropped gold as a mini color, too. And, according to the press release, you'll soon be able to buy a $29 accessory to upload photos from your digital camera straight to the iPod Photo.
I don't see a 40GB iPod (new or old) at the Apple store!
Cell phone backlash leads to sales of cell phone jammers:

Unsuspecting cellphone users may find themselves saying that more often now that cellphone jammers — illegal gizmos that interfere with signals and cut off reception — are selling like hotcakes on the streets of New York.
"I bought one online, and I love it," said one jammer owner fed up with the din of dumb conversations and rock-and-roll ringtones.
"I use it on the bus all the time. I always zap the idiots who discuss what they want from the Chinese restaurant so that everyone can hear them. Why is that necessary?"
eta:
"One time I followed this guy around for 20 minutes," he said. "I kept zapping him and zapping him, until finally he threw the phone on the floor. I couldn't stop laughing. It was so cool."
