And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Right. I just can't think of any urgent Amazon needs I might have. If I really want something that fast, I'll get it from a real store.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

You can also use the premium shipping for up to 4 people in your household.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

If I really want something that fast, I'll get it from a real store.

Plus, if you're at work, B&N has same-day shipping in Manhattan.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

B&N has same-day shipping in Manhattan

Thank GOD I can get my Netflix mailed back to me one day after I post it myself, but have to wait a few days for B&N. Netflix money? Fixed cost, timeliness is appreciated. Instant trade paperbacks would wreak havok with the impulse impulse (or even the Impulse impulse).

In theory. In practice, not so far.

If I only had a brain...

That might well be worth it to me. I do wind up buying extra items to hit the 25.00 barrier, and I do really resent waiting for Super Saver items.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I save Amazon for larger orders of things I want but am in no hurry to receive, so for me, not a good deal. (Things I'm in a hurry to receive come from the local B&N, on account of my discount card thing and the close-to-house factor.)

Anyone here migrated from Eudora for the PC to Eudora for Mac? I'm tempted to make this my primary machine, and I have all my Eudora data backed up on the file server, but thus far have not made the push to see about switching over.

"There are two sorts of people in the world: those who believe Joss Whedon is a genius and those who are wrong." - Connie Ogle, Miami Herald

(Disclaimer: I work for the bricks & mortar division of B&N.)

I'm not sure what the BN.com threshold for free shipping is

It's also $25. We usually have coupons you can get in-store that will give you $5 off a purchase of $50 or more online, too. (I'm also one of those people who usually falls short of $25, so if I have to add stuff to reach the limit, at least I save a few $ plus my discount.) The new batch of coupons just arrived.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

That program would have been great for me for Christmas (I was doing shopping for 3 people).

Apart from that, nsm.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Liscensing question: If the organization I'm working for has bought a program (in this case, Dreamweaver), for me to do a project (ie-I will be the only one using the software, and they allow me to work from home, can I install the same copy on my home computer, with the understanding that I will uninstall it when I stop working here?
