Woe to the fucking wicked.

That program would have been great for me for Christmas (I was doing shopping for 3 people).

Apart from that, nsm.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Liscensing question: If the organization I'm working for has bought a program (in this case, Dreamweaver), for me to do a project (ie-I will be the only one using the software, and they allow me to work from home, can I install the same copy on my home computer, with the understanding that I will uninstall it when I stop working here?

The generation that could change the world is still looking for its car keys.

You'd need to check the specific license, but, generally, you can only install it on one machine. Unless it's a server based application, where all you're doing is installing a client.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

generally, you can only install it on one machine

I remember hearing that you could install Office apps on more than one, but no one could ever prove it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I remember hearing that you could install Office apps on more than one, but no one could ever prove it.

It used to be permissable to install the same copy of Office on both your work and home machine. But I believe they've changed their licensing to prohibit that.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Yeah, that used to be the rule, two computers, presumed to be work and home or desktop and laptop. But things got more stringent since. Though I still believe in two computers rule, like I believe in fair use of media. Doesn't affect the actual legality.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Generally? Most of the major players ignore small-scale piracy. It's when you start running the entire company on 400 machines using two copies of Office that MS gets pissed.

(Exaggerated for emphasis)

If anyone has a used web-schooling capable laptop for cheap (Preferrably a PowerPC Mac, but a PII+ PC will work), I'm starting to look for something for Andi's (WindSparrow's) online classes.

Our wings are not tired

I might be selling my 600 MHz G3 iBook soon.

Also, I still have two boxes of stuff that I need to ship to you. I've not forgotten. They are all sealed and ready to go, I just need to get my ass down to the post office.
