Can't even shout, Can't even cry. The Gentlemen are coming by. Looking in windows, knocking on doors. They need to take seven, and they might take yours. Can't call to mom, can't say a word. You're gonna die screaming but you won't be heard.

Art Crawl!!!

The pay one price and get two-day shipping all year thing?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I think if I were buying more time-sensitive things that might make sense. As it is, I always end up with free shipping anyway (there's always *something* I can buy to get over that $25 mark), and they usually come within 3 days, so I don't feel the need to pay extra for it.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

(there's always *something* I can buy to get over that $25 mark),

That's exactly it, though, I might be able to be a little more choosy if I wasn't trying to hit that mark. Or at least able to buy just the one thing I want without the excuse to grab a couple of other things.

OTOH, knowing I have to spend at least $25 probably keeps me from buying more in the long run, 'cause I'm cheap like that. The impulse buying might get seriously revved up this way. How much does it cost upfront?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

$79, I think.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure what the BN.com threshold for free shipping is, but I use it more as a restraint. If what I want right now doesn't qualify for free shipping, I just put it on my wish list instead.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

$79, I think.

Which only seems worth it if you order a lot and order often. Because even if your shipping per order is $6-7, that's 1 order a month. And I don't order stuff from Amazon that often.

And if you do order a lot, you get the free shipping anyway. So it'd be one order a month for less than $25, or you have the urgent needs.

Free slow shipping, though. The $79 thing gives you free (or prepaid, technically) 2-day shipping.

I don't disagree. That would be what I was alluding to with the "urgent needs."

Right. I just can't think of any urgent Amazon needs I might have. If I really want something that fast, I'll get it from a real store.
