They charge so much for RAM that I would expect it to be magic pixie-dust RAM.
Not sayin' it is, not sayin' it ain't.
Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!

Great prices and service on Mac Memory from Other World Computing. I've been using them for years.
Hey, can anyone recommend a good (free) program to make a screensaver?
This probably falls in the "Well, duh!" category, but just in case folks find it interesting...
Handheld market free fall continues >[link]
The global handheld market continued to slide in 2004, with shipments slipping to below 10 million for the first time since 1999, according to a new IDC report.
....This is the third successive year of decline since the market's peak in 2001, IDC said.

I was about to recommend a ScreenTime program I got a few years ago (although it cost ~$30, IIRC) but I checked their site and it looks like they readjusted their target audience and now only offer ScreenTime for Flash, with a heftier $199-$299 price tag. The funny thing is I would export Flash as an AVI and then import it into the program, anyway.
About.com has some recommendations but I don't think any of them are freeware.
What to do... what to do....
I found a store in Chicago that has the MiniMac in stock. But they are unable to install Airport and Bluetooth because Apple has not furnished them with the parts yet. So if I want Airport and Bluetooth I'd have to order from Apple and wait 3-4 weeks.
So should I buy the thing now, and then maybe later pay an Apple technician to install wireless? because if I buy a MiniMac it'll be somewhat of an impulse purchase....
Official Apple Mac mini service guide. [This is a large PDF file].
So from that article...the reason PDA sales are going down is because people want PDAs bundled with phones?

That looks like something I could easily do. But the pdf says that the upgrade kit is "for service providers". I wonder if civilians can buy one? But the fact that it is simple means it probably wouldn't cost much to pay a "service provider" to do it for me, huh?
