OK, here's a question that my boss just asked me....
Right now we have 32 static IP addresses with a DSL connection to the internet. Let's say we switch to a much-cheaper cable modem that would give us four IP addresses. We could use NAT so we could still connect all our computers to the internet, but there's one problem: when we log into our client's system via VPN, each of us needs to have a different IP address for it to work. So is it possible to have a router (or, say, a linux box acting as a router) using NAT set up so that, say, three of our computers would always have different IP addresses outside of our network?
Tom, you can map three specific static addresses on your network to three of the cable IPs through NAT, leaving the fourth for everyone else. I don't think you could do it dynamically, at least not with the router I have here. Other routers may have the software to do it.

And again, I have to ask -- will there be anyone LEFT to sign up once Gmail finally gets out of Beta? I remember when Gmail accounts were rare and hard to come by and we had to push our emails uphill by hand both ways in the snow. Now they can't give 'em away fast enough.
Me too. I'm thinking I may have to start giving them out to random passersby in the street. Like car wash ads, or religious tracts.
My suspicion is that this is the last push before FCS.
