Hmm. Betsy, I hadn't noticed that the regular lap desk didn't have a pad. Does your husband find it comfortable? Does he balance it on a chair? The SO sits on the couch, so I think he'd want a pad, but the laplander's dimensions are too small for what I want.

I've checked out Minis at several online places, including Amazon. None seem to offer upgrades, such as Bluetooth and Airport, that must be installed by Apple or an Apple reseller or service place.
