I've run into a problem in Foxfire that is driving me crazy. (OK, I know, more like putt than a drive.) I switched to the new Foxit pdf reader; I like the smaller footprint . OK - I made it the default for opening pdf files in my browser. But the problem is the adobe plugin is still there, and when I disable it, it gets re-enabled after a few sessions. Is there any way to remove a plugin from firefox, as opposed to disabling it?

Is this how you disabled it?

click Downloads
In the lower right corner, click "Plug-Ins"
Un-check the file-type association.

Yes clicked downloads, Clicked plug ins. Unchecked the "enable" check box in the rightmost column. And it is fine - until it is mysteriously turned on again.

Okay, so I removed some files with Spybot, and started getting the following error message at startup:
Runner Error
Could not load the target dll ("C:\Program Files\BackWeb\BackWeb Client\6.23.66\Porgram\BackWeb.dll", error code 126
I tried restoring the files in question, but I'm still getting the message. It doesn't seem to be doing any harm, but having to click past it every time I turn on the computer is getting old. Any suggestions?

Windows XP, and no.
Daniel--yeah, in retrospect I suspect it's the program that was running my HP updates. So I figured putting it back would help, but... apparently something's still missing, and I have no idea where to go looking for it (and little desire to start randomly installing things that might be it). I'm kind of hoping I'm just missing something in Spybot, but it really looks like I've restored everything thta has to do with Backweb.
