Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Steve Jobs will probably give a definite Tiger release date when he makes his MacWorld keynote speech tomorrow.

Can someone suggest a good website to buy a cheap network hard drive?

What do you mean by "network" hard drive?

Regardless, dealnews.com is your friend.

Hard drive that hooks directly up to a network (without needing a computer or OS running it.) I guess like a mini-server. Checking out dealnews now, thanks.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Search on NAS, Wolfram -- network attached storage.

Thanks for the term, ita.

So far I think this might be perfect: [link]

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Okay, I have 2 Mac-related questions that are moronically simple, but I don't know the answers anyway:

(1) if I'm going to transfer data from my old laptop to my new iBook via a USB cable, should it be an A to A cable, or an A to B cable? [I'm aware of firewire cables; my current laptop doesn't have a firewire port.]

(2) I have DSL now. My iBook will have an AirPort Extreme card. If I want to use my DSL connection wirelessly, I need a router, correct? Like the AirPort Extreme base station? (Or a random other Mac-friendly router.) Do I need *more* than a wireless router?
