"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Count me amongst those that would rather have the spoiler thread be all out in the open, with no whitefont at all.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

The thread is interesting for me, but not if it's going to be all out in the open. I only like being spoiled for some shows.

All is well that ends in pizza.

The problem is, that a general spoiler thread must searve severla masters. If we want to be unspoiled for some shows and unspoiled for others, than basically you can't come in at all.

For instance, If I wanted to read Lost spoilers, but not Alias spoilers, I"m SOL if we eliminate whitefont in this thread.

This would not be an issue in a single topic thread, but here? A bit more complicated.

ETA: Xpost with ita... heh

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There's white font elsewhere. A major feature of previous spoiler boards was No Freakin' Whitefont. I'd rather this was Non-Sluts Beware forewarned zone, rather than a pick and choose whitefont-everywhere zone.

Where?

I'm sure there are also unwhitefonted spoilers somewhere too.

Hmmm, I guess I'm just thinking of all the white font splooshed across natter when a new show airs. Which will be mostly mitigated by the Lost thread. Still, I'd rather culturally this thread be like the Buffy or Angel spoiler threads - very slutty. Rather than something like Spoilers Lite, which was all whitefont all the time.

Yeah, but those aren't spoilers. Telling me I can go a million other places and not learn what happens next in Lost is pretty useless, since I was coming here to find out what happens next in The OC (for instance).

What is even happening?

Upstream, Lyra asked:

A question: Is everyone comfortable with whitefonting everything, or could we find a more permissive policy that worked for everyone? My suggestion would be plain-text for everything except maybe truly shocking things (character deaths, resolutions to cliffhangers), with the show title and a few lines of blank space at the top of each post to facilitate scrolling/skimming/skipping. But if the whitefont works, it works.

I'm comfortable with that, but I am also comfortable with trying it how it is, now.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I'm with Amych on the whitefont issue.

If people need spoiler fairies, I'm always willing to be of service, but whitefont in here drives me batty.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

If we whitefont, then should we decide if this thread is NAFDA or not, for responses? Many of the Lost posts are actually talking about things that have already been aired, I think mostly in response to spoilers. Because they relate to posts here, I think it's appropriate to respond here, but wouldn't think that they would need to be whitefonted.
