I have a question about something in AICN, etc. I'm not white-fonting this because I'm not sure this spoiler is true or not.

Is it true that someone on the island (one of the 46) was not on plane?

If so, do we have any idea who this person is?

LeN, I'd heard that rumor too, but I have no idea if it's true or not. (I probably read it on AICN, now that I think about it.)

On the latest episode, Jack's father shows up. Is he real or a hallucination? It's hard to say. He may have been on the plane; that's not totally clear. However, even if he was on the plane, he was dead first. I don't know if this is what AICN was talking about, but there you go.

4 - You almost didn't know Jack . In Abrams and Lindellof's original pilot script, spinal surgean Jack was killed by the monster within the first half hour. "The idea was start with Jack and transfer [leadership] to Kate," says Abrams, who has a proclivity for heroines who are hot, headstrong and tougher than the boys. "We thought it was in the spirit of the show to shock people" by killing off what seemed to be a lead character. Jack's still kicking thats to ABC prime-time entertainmnet president Stephen McPherson, formerly the head of Touchstone Television, the studio that produces the series. "He said, 'This is a great character. People are going to bond to him,'" remembers Lindelof. "He was 100percent right." Not that the executive producers plan to always play it safe: At least one of the major characters will perish before the season finale.

5 - The bear truth may lie in a comic book . Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed a picture of a ;polar bear in the comic Walt (Malcolm Kavid Kelley) was reading in Episode 2. Is there a connection between that and the bear the castaways inexplicably encounter and kill on the island? "All I can say is, every prop is absolutely intentional," Lindelof says. The comic is actually a Spanish translation of "Green Lanter/Flash: Faster Friends" Part 1, which chronicles the superheroes' attack on an alien that turns out to be peaceful. Say Abrams, "We definitely chose that story for a reason."

6- This are about to get a lot more complicated Spoiler Alert! Stop reading now if you don't want to know upcoming plot details. In the October 27 episode, Sun (Yunjim Kim)-who, along with her domineering husband, Jin (Daniel Dae Kim), has spoken only Korean on the island-reveals that she speaks English and intended to leave Jin the day of the horrific plane crash. In the November 3 episode, Charlie attempts to kick his heroin habit with spooky bald guy Locke's help, while flashbacks trace Charlie's evolution from clean-cut Catholic-school boy to a rocker of excess. Beyond that, look for Middle Eastern raio-communications expert Sayid (Naveen Andrews) to grow closer to learning the origins of the 16-year-old French broadcast heard in the second episode.

7- The castaways may actually be dead and stranded in an island purgatory . At least that's one theory that has fans buzzing, though, naturally, Abrams will neither confirm nor deny. "I don't want to ruin any potential fun that people will have tuning in," he says before quickly adding, "but the theories are exactly the kins of things I would be doing if I were a viewer." Monaghan, for one, likes the idea: "Whether or not it makes sense for J.J. and Damon, I don't know. But I think it's fantastic. The island represents our fears and insecurities, and I think purgatory is a place that consistently reminds you of what is wrong with you." Lilly, however, isn't buying it. "I have a scene in the [seventh] episode where Sayid says, 'How is it possible we survived?' And I say, 'So, what, we're all dead?' I put that out there as an impossibility.

8- Evangeline Lilly channels David Janssen and Harrison Ford . In the October 6 episode, viewers got a glimpse of Kate's pre-island troules, including being hunted by a federal marshal and betrayed by an Australian farmer with a prosthetic arm. If that recalls a certain '60s TV series and 1993 feature film, it's intentional. "That's our little wink, wink, nod, not to 'The Fugitive,'" says Lindelof, who promises viewers will learn more about Kate's crime this season. The homage evidently escaped the 25-year-old Lilly, who's seen nether the series nor the film. "I had no idea," says the Canadian-born actress, (continued...)

9- Charlie likes to let his fingers do the talking . The fidgety rocker sports bandages on his four left fingers, which feature periodically changing letters. That fashion statement, along with Charlie's affinity for black nail polish, was Monaghan's idea. "He's an artist, and I thought he would write something to show his personality, "says the actor, who has been know to doodle on his own digits off scree. "We decided on 'Fate', but I like fooling around with it. Like, he must be in a bad mood today because he's written 'Hate'. He must be hungry because he's written 'Pate'. He must be in love with the leading lady because he's written 'Kate'. I have a whole list of ideas of where it's going next." Alrighty mate.

10- There may be a rhyme and reason to who survived the plane crash . Lindelof hints that destiny is a recurring theme to be found in Lost. "These peoples' lives may have inter-twined before they all got on that plane in ways that they themselves are not aware, " he says. "It gives complete purpose as to why we're telling two different stories, one that happened before the crash [through flashbacks] and one that happens after." whatever the story, we're content to stay Lost.
