The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

was he ever actually referred to as the anti-Christ?

Not that I remember. I think that was just a fandom thing.

It's not like the show really has two people available to get killed off and still have Bobby and Ellen survive.

If they kill off Bobby, I am going to be SO ANGRY. I will also be angry if they axe Ellen, but I am fiercely protective about Bobby.

According to Kripke at Comicon, the anti-Christ and Satan are two different entities.

If I'm not mistaken, I thought they had established that Lilith and Ruby were among the few demons aware of Azazel's end game. Based on that, I'm assuming the other demons thought Sam was only to serve as the anti-Christ/Boy King.

And perhaps it's a plot hole.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

okay, so is Christ Himself going to show up?

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

In Ruby's first conversation with Sam (well, after saving his ass in the house - the conversation over fries) didn't she say something about him being the antiChrist? Or am I misremembering?

...if Christ Himself shows up, he'd better be a black guy. ijs. At this point, Show has A LOT of making up to do. (Personally, if I were Cas on a mission to find God, I'd be looking thoughtfully at Morgan Freeman. And maybe Obama.)

Yes, you're right, however I'm chalking that whole scene up to her feeding into Sam's own assumptions about Azazel's plans for him.

I'll go for Morgan Freeman as God, or even Keb' Mo' since I love his music.

A Supernatural source has confirmed that the ubiquitous and talented Mark Sheppard (the actor who has his own Full Employment Act) will play a "pivotal" crossroads demon named Crowley in Episode 10 of the season. The episode is called "Abandon All Hope...," and it was written by Ben Edlund and will be directed by Phil Sgriccia. It's the final "Supernatural" episode of 2009 (the show will resume its fifth season with new episodes in 2010. More than a month without "Supernatural"? Say it ain't so!). The episode is "epic" and will "definitely ... have the fans on the edge of their seats going into the holiday 'hellatus,'" my source said.

I think that the thing that Shrift was most likely appalled at is Sam and Dean at a Supernatural con. (I hope this means we get to see Chuck again.)

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Morgan Freeman would be a great choice to play God incarnate if he hadn't already played the role in those awful comedies. I'd vote for Maya Angelou. Who can listen to her speak and not think that everything she says is exactly right?

Hmm, do you think that Kripke will sooth the anti-John fans and have JDM appear as the Anti-Christ?

Ah, yes. I think that's it. I wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea either. It's okay to wink at fandom, but this is more like fondling. Just tell the damn story and quit mugging for the audience.
