I read that Heroes is alreadying filming because they've got so many episodes in their season (or unwritten reason: they're trying to avoid the writers' strike) - but that probably means some real hard-core spoilers should be out and about shortly.
Spoilers 3: First Mutant Enemy, Now the World
[NAFDA] Spoilers for any and all currently running TV shows. All hardcore spoilage, all the time. No white font.
Anders will play the most intriguing part, that of the ancient samurai warrior Takezo Kensei
Um, I know my eyesight is shitty, but, isn't David Anders kind of white for that role?
Also, if they make him deliver all his lines in Japanese I will laugh and laugh -- I've never heard him speak in his native accent, which I gather is something ordinary like Oregonian.

I don't remember what accent he used in CSI (and wouldn't recognise Oregonian if it bit me in the ass with a reacharound map), but it was very charming.
But that all pales behind the idea of a resurgence of 'yellowface,' which I was just reading was kosher way longer than blackface ever was. I'd never thought of that.
Yeah, when you have John Wayne playing Gengis Khan, that's seriously stretching credibility for the sake of discrimination.
Say what you will, that was less offensive than Mickey Rooney in Breakfast at Tiffany's.
I don't know how Mickey slept at night after that role.
Maybe the rat poison that likely started finding its way into his Chinese take-out had a soporific effect?
I'm hoping that they don't do a yellowface thing because that would totally suck.
I'm hoping that they have some interesting story as to why blue-eyed blond guy is in Japan at that point.

Doctor Who companion news:
The BBC has revealed that Martha Jones, as played by Freema Agyeman will join the cast of the Doctor Who spin off Torchwood for three episodes next year.
She will then return to Doctor Who, rejoining the show in the middle of Season Four.
To replace Martha a new companion will join the Doctor, staying for the entire thirteen week run of the series.
An announcement on casting is promised very soon.
Speculation I'm reading on the new companion includes Sally Sparrow and Thomas Milligan (the pediatrician who helped Martha in the last episode). Go Sally!
