I don't know if this is light enough for "lite" because it may touch a little on plot. From Ask Ausiello:
Question: It's been a month and a half since you gave us any Supernatural scoop. Will you please give us some Season 3 spoilers?— Gabrielle
Ausiello: Big scoop! The show is adding two new series regulars next season, both of them female and, based on the casting breakdowns, insanely doable. The first one is described as a beautiful, funny and confident mercenary who lacks a conscience, and the other is an enigmatic demon hunter who is sexy, brutal and ruthless. So ruthless that I hear she's going to make Sam and Dean look like the Hardy Boys.
So ruthless that I hear she's going to make Sam and Dean look like the Hardy Boys.
Half the job's already been done for her, what with Sam's Shaun Cassidy hair.
Some of us have been dream casting.
I just want to share that my brain exploded when someone suggested Clea Duvall.
Man, I would pay real money to see her as the baddest of asses.
Plus, additional freckles.
I really hope they bring her back sometime during the season, drat it.
Grrr. It'd be one thing if the producers had wanted to pursue a storyline that required the absence of Ellen's supportive influence, or something like that. But network-mandated changes to feature "hot" young actresses rather than the stellar Samantha Ferris? Big mistake.
If not for the potential fallout for the show itself, I'd wish for this decision to result in the CW hiring the next Yancy Butler in duplicate as karmic payback.
I realize as a straight old woman, I'm hardly the target audience, but I don't see anything not-hot about Samantha Ferris. People are dumb.
My impression is that networks and Hollywood studios are run exclusively by men with a fetish for anorexic college-age blondes. Remember when Michael Bay or somesuch made a comment to the press about Kate Beckinsale not being pretty?
