So, SG-1 S10. Begins where last season leaves off, with our guys getting their asses kicked. Sam's still floating in space near the supergate, the Koralev is all exploded, and the Odyssey is in reeeeeally bad shape. BB managed to grab a fighter and escape the explosion, and Daniel ringed aboard the Ori ship where Vala is (lucky break!), so they all lived. Hooray!
By the end of the ep, all we really know is that the Lucian alliance isn't so interested in alliance as we'd hopd, Vala's baby is growing up superfast, and will be full grown (and played by Morena Baccarin) in a few days. She is "the Orisi" and knows as much as the Ori could fit into her tiny human bran. She's going to lead their armies in this galaxy. Vala and Daniel get beamed back to the Odyssey at the last minute before they're discovered and killed. Vala has had very little luck getting her daughter to not lead the Ori armies in a mass slaughter of everyone in our part of the universe.
In ep 2, Vala is applying to be an official part of SG missions for some reason, and therefore needs a psych evaluation. The point of this (since she's already BEEN On SG missions, after all) is that seeing Vala take a psych evaluation is funny. Which it is, and they do need an excuse to keep her around now that she's part of the opening credits, so it's all good.
The main team is on some planet mentioned vaguely in connection with Sir Gawain, which they think might have Merlin's anti-Ori weapon on it. It doesn't, but it does have lots of new books for Daniel to translate, and a parasite that causes sleep, and then death. They lose 2 redshirts before help arrives to save all the characters with names.

Okay, how much do I love the fact that the very first problem we encounter in Eureka ends up being solved by reversing the polarity of a tachyon emitter?! I mean, dude. That's just awesome.
(And, huh, I never did get around to recapping SGA. Should I even bother? Does anyone actually care?)
