We didn't learn anything new, but I thought these were much better integrated than the other flashbacks this season. I didn't feel the same heavy-handed "DO YOU SENSE A THEME????"-ness that, say, Hurley's flashback did -- it felt very natural to see the beginning of Sun & Jin interspersed with the present-day story.

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.
This backstory was pretty and touching, but unilluminating.
Well, so was much of the episode. I'm probably overneeding something happening, but I'm beginning to sense the boredom inherent in being stranded on a deserted island.

No -- last night's episode drove me bonkers with the large amounts of Nothing Happening. About the only new thing we learned was that we got (a bit of) a look at the character of the Tail Section's tracker!guy.
We already knew Girlfight girl was a bitch who should be eaten by the invisasaur. We already knew that Sawyer has the BBoC factor, so his smoulder with Girlfight girl-who-should-die (heh -- I feel like Hellish!) wasn't particularly surprising. We knew Jin could fish like a motherfucker. We knew that Kate had the hots for Sawyer. Michael ran off to find Walt....and then came back empty-handed, so nothing happened there.
I guess the other new thing was that we saw feet and legs of people we're supposed to assume are The Others, with a tell-tale teddy bear. But we already knew The Others existed, and we already knew they seem to be collecting kids.
I just want something to happen, damn it.

3 weeks until Big Exciting Death!
Please be Girlfight girl....please be Girlfight girl....

I like Girlfight girl, perhaps just because I can imagine her beating the shit out of Kate.

Or Jack.
She just needs to start with Kate.
It's possible that Michelle Rodriguez doesn't possess the delicacy to portray the harmlessness that Kate should be able to present, but I'd rather see the actress fail in that direction than to fail as utterly as I see Lilly at seeming even slightly competent, not to mention a threatening criminal.
For the love of Mike, am I the only person on Earth who likes Kate?
I like Kate. A lot, actually.
