I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

what did Locke give the island?

His service and loyalty?

SunDaddy

Heh.

I got a vibe of "Oh, geez, now we'll never get out from under his [generic rich and powerful megalomaniacal] controlling thumb," from Sun when Jin said he was going to work for her father. In retrospect, I'm not sure whether she knew about his business or not. Well, certainly after Jin came home all bloody and probably before that (after they were married) she had suspicions. But, for whatever reason, they both seemed innocent of it to me in that first flashback.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I think Locke gave his trust to the island.

But when Jin pulled out the huge diamond after just finishing agreeing to work with Pops, Sun must have known it was going to take more than 2 years of 40 hours/week labor to cover that.

I'd guess that was the beginning of her, "Huh, seems fishy, but LA LA LA LA I'm in loooooove!!" Which didn't last forever, but love makes you do ... well, you know.

Art Crawl!!!

Coming over from WX -- a black bear would be much less likely to eat people than a polar bear.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Did he become more jealous and possessive over the course of their marriage, or does he feel that being her husband gives him the right to tell her how to dress now, or does he think he's just being a good, protective husband in this strange new situation?

This is what I thought happened. Jin seemed to have a strong sense of honor going in (not wanting to sneak away to get married, etc.), as well as ambition and a lot of self-confidence, and it all got twisted by the work he was doing for Jin's father. I think being so controlling with Jin and going ballistic over the symbol of Jin's father were all symptoms of how far gone he was.

Trust my rage

Where did you see or read Singapore? I just assumed LA.

I heard something in the airport about "Oceanic Airlines flight whatever, leaving for Singapore". I guess I just assumed it was their flight (maybe with a stop before heading to the US).

As for SunDaddy - Personally, I think he maybe does own some factories and probably that's what he told Jin in the beginning. Maybe Jin even worked there for a while. Also, I had the impression that Sun wanted to get away from her dad because he was such a controlling person - she knew they would never be free of him as long as they stayed. Just my opinions, though.

I was also worried about the puppy/dog and hope that woman does go take care of him.

Also, assuming Sun and Jin really are Korean (which we know they are, right? It sure sounds like Korean), my guess is they were living there and got sent to Australia for some reason. Since the dog was with Sun when she spoke to that woman, that must have been back in their home, in Korea. Maybe she went on the trip with Jin and was planning her escape for the way home.

My assumption after seeing the ep last night is that Jin was so possessive because he himself has 1 or 2 women on the side. I don't think it would be that uncommon given the kind of work he did.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I heard something in the airport about "Oceanic Airlines flight whatever, leaving for Singapore".

I think that was a final boarding call for another flight.
