Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR

[NAFDA] This is where we talk about the show! Anything that's aired in the US (including promos) is fair game. No spoilers though -- if you post one by accident, an admin will delete it.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Ah, the bitterness of the Ex-Phile. I know it well.

And yeah, if that's what Fury said, I'm not really getting the outrage, except that Abrams has apparently sold the show to the public as one where he does have a plan. And Fury basically said the emperor ain't got nothin' on.

So, whatever. I may cancel my season pass to LOST and just switch over to VM, anyway.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Magical numbers as longitude and latitude.

Now, a question- there was the mystery logo on the *stuffed* polar bear? When I read about the logo on the polar bear the other day, upthread, I read it that it was on the live, deadly polar bear.

Hm? I don't think there was a logo, on either the stuffed polar bear or the real polar bear. There was a logo on the shark, and someone asked if there had also been one on the polar bear, but I don't think anyone answered in the affirmative.

I too am an Ex-Phile, and have learned my lessons well. I don't expect anything from Lost in terms of plot consistency. Okay, that's not entirely true. If the island turns out to be in central L.A. surrounded by a Magical Force Field Of Magical Invisibility, for example, I will cry foul. But I pretty much assume there is no master plan, and thus am not invested in finding out what it is.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

There was more playing with lat/longs in evil jimi "Lost: OMGWTF POLAR BEAR" Apr 9, 2005 12:44:13 am PDT

The closest fit is using South latitude and West longitude, but it's still a stretch.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

This screen shot from last season supposedly shows the logo on the left shoulder of the polar bear.

Really? I can't see it. Not that it might not be there, but the logo on the shark was (brief, but) unmistakeable; the tail came into sharper focus so as to make it easier to see.

eta: I see something on the polar bear's shoulder that could be a shadow, or could be a symbol of some kind, but it doesn't look like the same symbol, to me.

What is even happening?

I don't know about in your area, but some UPN affiliates are rerunning VM on Saturdays. That's how I'm managing for now. It may change in the future. I'm giving Lost a little time.

Oh poo. Javier Grillo-Marxuach must have removed or locked down the controversial LJ entry. That's what I get for being better at procrastinating than at being nosy.

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe Archive.org caught it. Or do they mine LJ?

Here's a Lost poll. I realize that I don't have much in common with the LJ Lost fandom based on the results.
