"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I'm worried that Artz is a case where they're finally going to make good on that "a redshirt and a regular go into the jungle, and only one comes back" promise. Not happy that hurley is the next slowest runner out of that group.

Though that does bring up the point that Kate's life so far has been excellent training for this island. As long as there's someone slower moving (which is everyone but Vincent) around, nothing's going to get her.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Hey -- did the marshall say that Kate killed her not-BF in the bank robbery, or just that she shot him?

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

put a bullet in him, I believe was the phrasing.

"Put a bullet in him" was the exact terminology. He didn't specify survival status.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Not happy that hurley is the next slowest runner out of that group.

But...he's spry!

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

As a ship name, "Black Rock" has a certain "yo ho ho and a barrel of rum"-ness to it, don't you think?

"Yarrr, thar be me ship, the Black Rock. Don't mind me parrot. Doubloons!"

I'm thinking pirates. I'm thinking plundered spanish gold. I'm thinking a Johnny Depp cameo. In fact, I demand all of those things.

Finale: Pirates vs. Polar Bears. I can't be the only one who's wondering how *that* would play out.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

"A-R-Z-T. Arzt."

Babelfish says that is German for "Physician."

If the writers were trying for the pun or the irony, I think they missed.
