I go online sometimes, but everyone's spelling is really bad. It's... depressing.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I am so happy for the Lost fans and the cast and crew that the party went so well. All I need is more piccies of the pretty people!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Wow, Allyson, that sounds fantastic. You really know how to throw a shindig. You have a truly magical ability to create a safe and fun space for fans and creators and actors to meet and take pleasure in each other's company. It ain't easy and it could go wrong in so many ways - but it never does when you set it up. Congratulations. Sounds like it was lovely for the fans and for the cast. I bet the cast members who couldn't come will be jealous!

Been said before, but we need to shout it from the rooftops - some one needs to hire Allyson to do this stuff professionally. And pay her mountains of cash for it.

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

Allyson does not work alone. Cast of thousands. Kristen, Maya, Popgurls, Socal Bronzers, LAistas...

"It was just great," says Grunberg. "You have a huge room filled with people who appreciate your work. It's just fun."

So sweet.

Well, OK - mountains of cash for all involved. Seriously, though - I know of people who started out organizing parties and ended up running night clubs (this is Boston I'm talking so LA may be a whole different thing - but if it's a universal, hey, run with your talents).

k, I know copying and pasting from other boards isn't so cool, but this post melted my heart. It's just the sort of experience I always hope to create, the ultimate goal.

kerry from cali says

... if some of the recaps seem a little too good to be true, it's because that's how the whole weekend felt. i've never had an event that i've walked into totally blind before, not knowing one single soul. some of the people i was meeting up with, i'd only talked to a few times on line, i had *no* idea what to expect. what i got was something so special, so good, it left me with a nearly inexplicable feeling of warmth and friendship. when you can walk into a room, and have someone see your name tag and scream your name before jumping up to give you a *giant* hug, well folks, that just frecking *makes* your day, ya know? and i had that happen, like 4 different times. it *blew* me away. i know i made friends this weekend that i'll always want to know. i'll care about what happens in their lives, and i already can't wait to see them next year.

my strongest recommendation to those that couldn't make it this year, would be to start saving your pennies and dimes, *now*. you do not want to miss this again next year. if that means skipping going to the movies, or not getting starbucks, what ever you have to do to save a few bucks a week, do it. you will not be sorry.
