You always think harder is better. Maybe next time I patrol, I should carry bricks and use a stake made out of butter.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

That was the cleanest newborn in the history of human births. And hey, no messy placenta! I want a uterus like Claire's.

I liked the way the backstory was cut, but the Jack-unable-to-let-go stuff didn't quite work. I saw it with Boone, nsm with Mrs. Jack, since he married her after all. But whatever. Boone's dead!

[eta: And check out the dueling tagline action! Woot!]

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

John Locke has some ‘splainin to do!

Oh yeah - that's HUGE - is there anyone's shitlist he won't be on now (even if they don't want to let Jack go all Wrath of Doc on him)? Even Charlie knows there's something hinkey going on with Locke.

And Claire was the prettiest post-giving-birth mother in the history of human births, too. Not to mention how well she was walking.

(Did anyone else want to hear Kate or Charlie say "I don't know nothin' 'bout birthing babies!"?)

I actually did want Kate to give Jack some kind of, "Look, just because I have BOOBS doesn't mean I know how to DELIVER BABIES!" speech, because it seems to be a common television misconception, and just ONCE I would like to see it corrected. (Farscape came closest.) But she didn't.

Kate's closer to the earth.

Having Charlie deliver the baby would have been too, too much, what with the Good Ship Charlie Loves Babymama. What I *really* wanted was to see Jin deliver the baby, and for a minute I thought he might, when he was being incomprehensibly consoling in Korean, and Claire was wailing (equally as incomprehensibly -- at least to Jin) about being scared. He just seemed ready to catch the baby.

Oh, me too, though the relieved expression on DDK's face while he was watching from the sidelines was pretty priceless.

I would have suggested Michael, since he has a kid and is therefore more likely than Kate to have actually witnessed a human birth.

Jack's "Don't bother me, I have no blood left" face was great.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I wonder if Boone was thinking...

"man, this would be a good day to start smoking heroin."

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee! After Jin's OMG you want me to feel it kick? response, prolly better to watch relievedly from the sides.

Yeah, I'm with Laura, I really liked the whole community coming together to see the baby. Especially seeing some extras faces. It was nice to remember that all of them were there.

Locke is all by his lonesome now, what with the crazy and the I-caused-the-death-of-my-protege and the OMG!preview!!?!.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

I actually did want Kate to give Jack some kind of, "Look, just because I have BOOBS doesn't mean I know how to DELIVER BABIES!" speech

I just figured he was picking the person he thought would be the most competent English-speaking person of the three who'd be there with Claire.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I don't consider Kate the most competent. Well, okay, given that Charlie was the alternative, probably the right choice.

Also, I really liked the dynamic of Sun with Jack. She really is capable and helpful and rational under pressure. And Jack needed her help.
