Zoe: Next time we smuggle stock, let's make it something smaller. Wash: Yeah, we should start dealing in those black-market beagles.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

From what I've heard, it's possible we won't see a 2nd season of Lost b/c of the cost of producing the series.

Our wings are not tired.

It's been picked up for the 2nd season.

Lurching from one disaster to the next.

yeah but if production costs can't be reduced, it might still be pulled mid-season irrespective of ratings ... or has Hawaii relented and given them some tax breaks and stuff to reduce costs?

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

They've been talking about moving production back to the mainland.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Tavella, there are a million reasons anyone gets a different job ... it would be fruitless to speculate without any evidence.

Being on a hot show is great, but it's not the be all and end all.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I really can't see why someone would bail out of the hot new thing where they've been getting major kudos for the tired 24 if they were happy.

I can think of a few reasons. Maybe he will have more input into the season arc at 24. Maybe he has a story in his head that will make 24 really sing. Maybe 24 will give him more time to work on The Inside than Lost would have. Maybe the "Don't" room made him. There are always a million reaons to jump ship.

Uh oh, Fury's been talking to the hand again.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Hawaii did get them some tax breaks, so they've committed to filming there for the near future, at least.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I think it's a great move for him. And LOST's loss.

I really hope so. And overnight, I've been thinking about it, and it probably is. With the Inside, of course, he gets to work with a fantastic team, one he mostly already knows and loves and works well with. The problem with a mainstream show like Lost is that is has mainstream limitations. There are going to be stories that can't be told there, just because of its own success. I can't speak to 24 as I haven't been watching that in a while, but I'm sure Fury knows his own mind and his own happiness and I know he'll be great on 24, too.

About Lost, yeah, it's definitely their loss. And I must say, it lessens my amount of hope/trust/etc. in their storytelling. I'm hoping that Fury didn't leave out of some problem with the writing process (like, for purely hypothetical example, that no one has any idea what's going to happen) because Fury is certainly a part of why I was watching and enjoying Lost.

Anyway, best of luck to him.
