I don't know... she had the opportunity herself, but turned it over to Sawyer instead. Though whether out of softheartedness or to avoid suspicion is anyone's guess. But I think if she had made the decision to do the deed, she could have made a bank shot using a mirror and been more accurate than Sawyer.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I fear I give Kate too much credit.

We'll see.

I hope.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

To avoid suspicion, probably, but maybe also not to have that particular death on her conscience. I mean, any more than it probably was. I think it would be harder for kate to be cold about it than Sawyer or someone else, just because she had personal involvement with him and knew it, and it was a secret.

I mean, people would look back on it and her differently if they found out later who he was and who she was if she'd been the one to pull that trigger.

However, had she done it, she prolly would have done just fine.

Well, considering she's demonstrated Chow Yun Fat chops with her shooting, I think you're giving credit where it's due.

Or are you talking about her being stone cold?

I'm talking about almost anything that's not been directly demonstrated onscreen, and even then ... I wonder.

I don't feel comfortable extrapolating too much out of Kate. I'm not sure what there is there, with her.

That reminds me of how I wish "Homecoming" had turned out: instead of Jack miraculously developing prizefighter skills and and Charlie turning executioner, the former gets his ass thoroughly kicked by Ethan again. At some point, we just barely see Ethan's head peeking around his victim, then BLAM! Bullseye gunshot wound and Ethan falls dead. The camera spins to show empty jungle, then races dozens of yards through the trees to reveal Kate calmly aiming her pistol.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Kate was still pretending she didn't WTF to do with a gun back when the marshall was shot. So I can see how she would let Sawyer shoot him. Sawyer acted like he was experienced with guns - shooting the polar bear for instance.

So he really fucked the marshall up.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just got Mr. H this chair. He's wanted a recliner forever, and I hate lazeeboy looking recliners. The chair actually looks better in person than in the photo.

Now he needs to buy me this loveseat.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Hi, Heather! This is the Lost thread. I think you're...lost.

"Don't think of yourself as an organic pain collector racing towards oblivion." Dogbert to Dilbert

Is this really Locke who stumbles, or are they suggesting that lots of people are getting sick?

Perkins, it was Locke who stumbled. The danger of posting late led to the error.

To tell you the truth, this promo really promises quite a turn in the narrative. Locke losing his "miracle" is something I didn't see coming. (Sickness among the survivors, though, has been telegraphed for a long time).

I'm anticipating this episode highly, but I'm worried about the lag time between this episode and the next new one, which I believe to be at the end of April.
