What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

He still needs paper.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Eh, the diary's the only thing that would be particularly hard to accomplish with other means. I don't think any of it's likely to drain a handful of pens.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I wonder how hard it would be to make ink? There are some methods here, but they seem a little complex.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Besides, there are always international stationary smugglers. Or boxes of Cross paper washing up on the beach, given that Walt may have to wish very hard for it....

(There is actually a remote beach on the Pacific side of the Baja peninsula that sits directly in the path of the N->S coastal current and which reputedly has the best beach-combing in the known world.)

Because books.

Sawyer might want to pass Kate a love note during one of Jack's speeches.

Snerk.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

All they need to do is have a container ship pass by and, before the castaways can get their attention, it gets capsized by Walt's mind. The debris that washes ashore can be many and varied.

Thrive to spite them

My thoughts on the paper/pen issue are more in years down the road, because I'm in the mind set that they are there for the very long haul.

Ah. Well, by that point they should be able to order some on the coconut phone.

Thrive to spite them

I've been trying to read Lost fic and I keep coming up with really bad stuff. Although if I could keep myself away from fanfiction.net I'd have a better chance at finding the good stuff.

FF.net has the 5 years after the accident, when the survivors are rescued 10 years later, how will they adapt kind of stuff. A common theme is that the survivors kids won't know anything about radios, tvs, cars, --nothing about what they are, look like, how they work adn I think tha'ts just unrealistic because I think all the adults would tell them what was going on.

But that kind of fic started me thinking about what they would do for clothes in 10 years, or shoes, or things like that.

Well, if the Magic Island Monster hasn't eaten them all.
