I have this horrible suspicion I'd be the Buffista Snickerbitch.
You have a stepbrother we don't know about?
Heh. Okay, I wouldn't be the Snickerbitch in *that* sense, but all the other annoying unhelpful ways.
Though I like to think I'd be Hurley, trying to improve morale and help however I could.
I'm good at organization. I'd go through all the luggage, sort everything, make inventory lists. After that was finished? I have no idea what I could do.
Alas, I think it's all too likely that I would be the early season Boone: eager to be helpful but incompetent at it due to half-remembered information. Though at least I wouldn't be stealing water bottles.
We could give ita an airline pillow in order to fake pregnancy and take care of the scary kidnapper problem right off the bat.
I'd be making the lists and organizing people and designating parts of the island for the potty. I'd also designate a nude beach for the all over tan, because really skin cancer least of the problems.
It doesn't bother me that little time has been spent on these matters. Most people are going to sheepishly wait around to be told what to do. They would have to be in shock. The limited number of minutes per week prevents dealing with all the stuff every week. We found out Sun had been working on a garden. There may well be other structure that we just haven't been exposed to yet.
I don't think that there is a concrete master plot plan at all, but I don't think that is required for me to enjoy going along for the ride. I'm easy. Give me a bunch of pretty interesting characters and a bunch of mystery and unanswered questions and I'll stick around to see what is happening next.
I'm currently fat and out of shape, but I'm awfully strong even so, and once I'm buffed, due to lack of tv or computer to vegetate in front of, I'd be Woman Who Hauls!
We do get occasional hints of organization going on -- Michael mentioned water filters, we see that they've built a storage area. But in terms of hunting, they probably reasonably presume that if Locke isn't successful, they aren't going to get any boar either. I certainly wouldn't be heading off into the forest with an improvised spear trying to get one!
Fishing probably more of them should be doing, but Jin wasn't too helpful about sharing his skills with Hurley when Hurley tried, so again it's somewhat an enforced passivity. And wasn't that sort of the pattern in Survivor? I don't watch it, but I got the impression that there was a repeated pattern where only one person was successfully bringing back protein.
In fact, I suspect the writers may be guiding themselves by Survivor to some degree; the reality of a bunch of modern Americans dumped in the tropics, rather than our Robinson Crusoe fantasies. Those are people that *know* they are going to be in a survival situation, but apparently they still regularly end up with groups where no one knows how to hunt and no one knows how to start fire. By that standard, the Lost group is a wonder of coordination and skill!

Plus they have a decent shantytown for the beach-dwellers.
But where are the coconut phones! Come on, it's been a month. Plenty of time to invent coconut phones.

They did build a golf course.
I'm an observant-intuitive helper. If Michael's building an aqueduct or a shower, I'd be the one handing him the most likely tool. I can also fabricate things out of other things. Like scrounging plastic and metal bits to wrap around joints in bamboo piping. Likewise, if Jack's taking out an appendix, if he explains the tools he's going to need, I can find, amend, and fabricate facsimiles from unexpected materials, and during the procedure I'd be handing him the correct tool for the job and anticipating the next one he'll need.
I probably shoulda been a scrub nurse. And in the improvisation category? I'm no MacGyver, but I get by.
I also have a grasp of how things can work, although not necessarily how they should work. For example, instead of trying to find an all-downhill route with the bamboo piping, if we run it uphill a little ways to save some length and possible leakage, spillage, or evaporation, and then downhill for a significant run, suction on the other end (pump. could be as simple as a flexible membrane over the end of the pipe to press and release to cause suction) will overcome gravity and bring the water uphill. And etc.
And if worse comes to worst, I can haul stuff, too.
